German Shepherd / Labrador Retriever mix
9 years old
Kobe is a 9
year old spayed female German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix
who was my first agility dog. She was a good dog
to learn agility with because she was not the fastest (unless
she was chasing a ball and then she could outrun any Border Collie)
but she became very steady in agility. Her crowning
achievement was qualifying for the NADAC Championships and going
to Calgary in 2003. Unfortunately Kobe had surgeries for
torn cruciate ligaments in both her knees the last two years so her agility career is winding down. Even after her surgeries she was able to achieve her Specialist Champion title in CPE in February 2006!

Mia
is aN 8 year old spayed female yellow Labrador Retriever. Her
registered name is Mia's Gold because the weekend we brought her
home the US Women's Soccer team with Mia Hamm won the Gold. Her
agility career came to a crashing halt when she & I were asked to
leave an intermediate agility class because of her fear
aggression. After a great deal of education on my part about dog
to dog aggression (reading, attending seminars and workshops,
etc.) and a lot of TTouch, behavior modification and "better
living through chemistry" on Mia's part, we were able to come back
to agility. Thanks to Nola, Mia has made up for lost time with a vengeance, achieving her CPE Agility Trial Champion title in February 2006!
