Pam Lunsford with Farli & Ryker

Farli and Ryker are my two shelties. Formally they are:

Farli - Flamesong's Joyful Noise RE NAP NJP CGC S-BJA S-STA S-BAA
Ryker - Roma's Striking Viking RN CGC

They love PDIA and adore Nola. Who else would crawl into the middle of a tunnel to save Ryker
when he was too scared to come out because the boogiemen were after him? When I travel and can't take them with me they board with Nola and boy are they thrilled when the crates come out of the car at PDIA. I'm happy too because I know they are safe and probably having more fun that I am.

I had been interested in agility but thought I couldn't do it because of limited mobility. Then in 2004 I met Sharon Persey who told me about Nola. When I saw her standing in the middle of the ring sending Reagan around the course I was amazed. Who knew that three years later I would go to the sheltie nationals with Farli and send her zooming around the course?

Nola and Kevin are amazingly patient with my shy boy and with me. Someday I hope to be the handler my dogs deserve and it will be because of them. Sharon has also been wonderful.

In 2005 Farli broke her leg and had to take a rest from agility. She needed something to keep her mind occupied while her leg healed and really missed having our girl's night out so I decided to do some Rally obedience with Sharon. Rally was so much fun that Ryker joined the classes too. I never intended to show them but Sharon is really good at gently prodding you out of your comfort zone and with her encouragement we did it. Farli got her Rally Novice title in November of that year, and Ryker got his a few months later. Farli has her Rally Excellent title and two legs towards her CD. Ryker is working on Advanced Rally and learning about herding.

We have been on a wonderful journey at PDIA. I can't wait to see what happens next!
